First prize surprised me a little, as it wasn't Gerry. I really thought she should have taken first-- her workmanship, choice of fabrics, and beaded trim were really gorgeous. I would be so curious to know the judges' comments!

The next challenge is themed "Summertime Fun" I'm thinking of doing the LeBaron pattern in white linen. But I'm trying to think of something to add to make it out of the ordinary. Maybe a big white floppy hat, or printing my own fabric on the inkjet. What I'd really love to do it figure out how to give it a dash of nautical style. Nothing says summer like a snappy white outfit with a sailor collar and navy trim. Or maybe I could make the Midnight in the Garden into a short flounced mini. I want to do something original but still recognizable as Gary's pattern. Oh well, I have lots of time to think about it. This challenge isn't due until the end of July.
